Lab-Grown Diamond Necklace Prices in Canada: Compare the Pendant, Centre Stone and Chain

A diamond necklace price makes more sense once you know what is included. Is it the pendant alone, or a finished necklace with a chain? Is the headline carat weight one centre stone, or several diamonds added together? Those two questions can change the comparison before brand or style even enters it.

On October 6, 2026, Carat Theory's five available pendant designs were listed from $1,070 to $2,100 CAD before tax. They include different stone arrangements, outlines and metal colours. The table below compares the designs as finished necklaces.

What should a necklace price include?

Separate the diamond or diamonds, the pendant setting, and the chain. A setting-only quote is not the cost of a complete necklace. Likewise, the material in a pendant setting does not establish the material of its chain.

Check whether both components are solid gold, what purity and colour they use, the chain length and adjustment points, and whether the advertised price includes everything shown. If the page leaves one of these points unclear, resolve it before comparing totals.

Carat Theory pendant prices and designs

Our necklace chains are adjustable from 16 to 18 inches, with adjustment loops at the 16-, 17- and 18-inch marks. The prices below are CAD before applicable tax, from the October 6 snapshot. The diamond-weight column gives the total for the pendant; it does not establish the weight of a centre stone.

Compare centre weight and total weight separately

In a solitaire, one diamond is the main feature. A halo adds diamonds around a centre stone. A three-stone or two-stone pendant shares the design across several diamonds. Their combined weight does not turn them into one larger centre diamond.

Trinity's published 1.50 CTW belongs to a three-stone design. Icon's 1.89 CTW belongs to a heart-and-pear pairing. Ethereal's 1.24 CTW belongs to a halo design. Ask for the centre and surrounding-stone breakdown when comparing one of these with a solitaire at a similar total weight.

Carat measures weight. The finished dimensions help you understand the outline: Ethereal is published at 10 mm in diameter, Trinity at 16 mm wide, and Solstice at 14 mm of drop. Those numbers describe different shapes, so a same-neck photograph is a more useful visual comparison than the total weight alone.

What can you choose below $1,500 CAD?

Ethereal at $1,070 and Solstice at $1,360 sit below $1,500 before tax in this snapshot. Ethereal offers a round halo outline in white gold. Solstice combines round and radiant diamonds in a vertical yellow-gold design.

Choose by the silhouette and the recipient's existing jewellery. Someone who wears a compact round pendant may prefer a different outline from someone who likes a vertical design. A higher total weight does not answer that preference.

Why a low advertised price needs a closer look

Material descriptions deserve particular attention when comparing necklaces. For example, a direct October 6 check of VVS Diamond's 1.0 ct Venus necklace listed $565 CAD and described a 14K gold-plated setting. That is a different material specification from a solid 14K setting, regardless of the one-carat headline.

This example does not establish a price ranking for solid-gold necklaces. It shows why the first line of a product title is insufficient for a comparison. Read the setting and chain descriptions separately, and check the diamond origin and actual weight.

For more detail, see our solid gold versus gold-plated jewellery guide. A useful comparison explains the material difference without assuming that every shopper wants the same specification.

Chain length changes the placement

A chain's stated length is the length of the chain, rather than a promise about where the pendant will land on every person. Neck size, body proportions, clothing and pendant height affect the result.

Fasten the clasp to the adjustment loop at 16, 17 or 18 inches to choose your preferred length. These three positions let you adapt the same necklace to different necklines. Compare them with a chain you already wear, then allow for the height of the pendant. Our necklace length guide explains how to make that choice.

Frequently asked questions

Does a 1.5 CTW necklace have a 1.5-carat centre stone?

Not necessarily. CTW adds the weights of the diamonds in the piece. Trinity is a three-stone design with a published 1.50 CTW total. A buyer looking for one 1.5-carat centre diamond should check the individual stone weight.

Is the chain included?

Confirm this on the specific listing. Carat Theory's published specifications for the five designs above describe an adjustable chain. Across retailers, a pendant price, a setting price and a necklace price can cover different components.

Which design is a good gift?

Begin with what the recipient already wears: metal colour, pendant outline and usual chain position. Then compare price, availability and the delivery estimate. A gift description cannot guarantee an individual's preferred fit or style.

Which diamond report will I receive?

Confirm the report supplied with the exact necklace and whether it describes an individual diamond or the jewellery piece. A total-weight label is not a substitute for that information.

Make the comparison in this order

First choose the outline. Next check the individual and total diamond weights, then the material of the pendant and chain. Finally compare the CAD price, current stock, dispatch timing and return conditions. You can view the five designs together in the necklace collection.
